Morning Star Senior Adult Ministry is having a “Golden Symposium” themed Helping our seniors to Live Golden in their Golden Years. It’s a community outreach for all residents of Mooretown who are 65 and over.
The event will have a variety of information to help seniors take advantage of services that are available to them in the community. The Shreveport Police Department will be onsite so people can meet their Community Liaison Officer, The Shreveport Fire Department will discuss Fall Risks and Fire Prevention. The Caddo Council on Aging, and Easter Seals of Louisiana will also share information on their services. Other groups scheduled to participate are Humana, with information on Medicare, Catholic Charities will share information on a monthly food box signup and the City of Shreveport will discuss water bill assistance for people on SSI and disability. Participants can also learn about a weatherization program for Mooretown homeowners,
