Criminal Justice Reform is a conversation resonating with many Americans throughout the country. “More than 2.2 million people are incarcerated in American prisons and jails, and more than $80 billion is spent on corrections every year. As prisons become increasingly overcrowded and spending continues to rise, federal and state legislators are striving to reduce the prison population without compromising public safety.” (Urban Institute , 2018) Conversating about Criminal Justice Reform with local, state, and federal leaders is critical with many events happening across the country. Morning Star Baptist Church is known as “the church with the people at heart.” Their mission is to make disciples by loving God, loving others and serving the world. “We are excited to host such dynamic roundtable,” said Theron Jackson, Senior Pastor “I believe the church has always been and should continue to be the advocate for people. We should extend our hearts, hands, voices and most importantly open our doors to conversations that help people all around us.” The roundtable will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018; doors open at 2:30 P. M. and the discussion will began promptly at 3:00 P. M. at Morning Star Baptist Church – 5340 Jewella Avenue – Shreveport, Louisiana 71109. The public encouraged to attend.
